The Here We Grow Again consignment sale in Olathe is one of the largest, most well organized  sales in town. Inside of their temporary store, they have over 115,000 new and gently used items for sale. What is a consignment sale? A consignment sale is not a garage sale or a thrift store. Consigners price and tag items they wish to sell. The items have to be in good working condition and approved by the sale managers before they are put into the sale. They bring the items to the sale sight where they are categorized, organized, and displayed. They have everything from clothes and toys to highchairs and room décor.

Overall we love Here We Grow Again because

  • They make consignment shopping less stressful  and more organized
  • You will find amazing deals on thousands of items for your kids
  • It is one-stop-shopping
  • Environmentally friendly – you are giving a new life to items
  • This season they have a room dedicated to Fall decor. You can outfit your kids and get your house ready for the holidays on a budget!!

Hours

The sale runs from September 18 to September 22:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: 9am to 8pm
    • Saturday – Items with an * are 50% off

Pricing

Items are priced by each individual consigner, so prices vary. The usual “rule of thumb” is that items are priced 25% to 35% of retail, but will fluctuate depending on the condition and demand for the item.

They take credit, debit, and cash. They do NOT take checks.

Sizing

The majority of items are for ages newborn to juniors. However, each season’s sale will differ depending on what consigners bring in. The majority of items are for kids ages newborn to 12 years.

Sale Items

Here We Grow Again has over 115,000 items for sale. They include: clothes, toys, sports equipment, strollers, car seats, safety equipment, breast pumps, baby carriers, riding toys, pack-n-plays, etc. At this Fall sale, they have an extensive selection of Halloween costumes, junior girls clothes, winter coats, games, and strollers. They are in excellent conditions are priced fairly. The fall sale has only fall/winter clothing. The sale is well organized and well-marked. Take a quick walk around the sale and create a plan of attack before you dive in.

This year, the sale is divided into two large, separate rooms. One side has the smaller items like: clothes, books, small to medium size toys, shoes, new-baby items, carriers, and diaper bags. The other side of the store has the larger items like: highchairs, pack-n-plays, ride-on-toys, bicycles, strollers, swings, and room decor. Be sure to checkout both sides of the sale!!

Here We Grow Again inspects all items that are brought in to be sold. The items must be clean and in good condition before they are put on the shelf. Many of the items have only been used a few times before a child grew out of it. Some items still include the original packaging and instructions.

We suggest expectant moms shop at, at least, one consignment sale before they buy new items. We know there are certain things you want to be new. However, check out the sales for toys and other newborn items. You will be amazed at the quality and condition of the products.

Need to Know Before You Go:

We suggest you go on one of the first-sale days if you need a specific item or have a list of “must haves”. It is first-come-first-serve. There are, usually, multiples of toys and books, but the hot items move fast. Seasoned consignment shoppers arrive early because they know they will find quality items at great prices. The lines will be long and the store will be crowded. Be prepared to wait in line. Here We Grow Again has 8 checkout lanes, but there might still be a wait. That is to be expected with the amount of shoppers. Bring a book or something to entertain yourself while you wait.

Before you leave the house, take stock of what you need. It is very easy to become overwhelmed at the amount of stuff and people at the sale. Check shoe sizes and make a list of clothing items you will need for the fall and winter months. Also, think about the toys your child needs and will be growing into. They have toys for all ages. Stock up on toys your child will be using in a few months or years.

At the sale, be sure to check items larger than the sizes you need. Since some of the clothes that are gently used have been washed and may run small.

Donations

Some items are marked for donation after the sale is over. Here We Grow Again has partnered with Olathe schools and principals to give donated items to 20 families from each school.

Insider Tips

  • If possible, leave your children at home. The sale can be overwhelming and has tons of toys. They might be tempted to play with all of them! If you have to bring them, load up on snacks and toys to keep them occupied.
  • Bring bags, laundry baskets, or a cart to hold all of the items you find. The sale has a few bags for shoppers to use, but they do not have shopping carts. Some moms bring empty strollers to haul their finds.
  • Come early – it will be crowded, but you will have the best selection.
  • Make a list of what you need – that way you will get all the things you need and other great finds you never knew you wanted!
  • Go back to the sale on different days. You might have missed something you need and take advantage of the Friday and Saturday sales.
